Vivienne Westwood

Mirror the World was presented in Paris on 3 October 2015 as the final Spring/Summer runway of the Gold Label naming era before the line became Andreas Kronthaler for Vivienne Westwood. Venice, climate risk and the approach to COP21 were integrated into the public framing of the clothes, giving the collection a closer connection between fashion content and political message than some earlier campaign-titled seasons.

The collection also captures the mature Westwood–Kronthaler design partnership immediately before Kronthaler’s authorship was placed in the line name. It closes the Gold Label period after two decades of development while carrying forward the tailoring, drape, historical reference and activist communication that had accumulated across the house.
