About this collection
Witches Autumn/Winter 1983–84 was presented at the Cour du Louvre in Paris on 21 March 1983 and became the last official collection credited to Vivienne Westwood and Malcolm McLaren. The show incorporated Keith Haring imagery into clothing that combined graphic surface, loose proportion and the pair’s evolving interest in movement and street culture.
The collection closes the first joint phase of Westwood’s runway history. Their professional relationship continued to unravel after the show, and Westwood’s independent practice was established by 1984.
