About this collection
Mathilde Castello Branco staged Weill’s first documented runway at the Ritz Paris on 18 January 2019. Titled Nouvelle Vague, the approximately thirty-look Autumn/Winter 2019–20 collection drew on the image of 1960s French New Wave Paris, bringing relaxed tailoring and polished femininity into a house better known for commercial ready-to-wear and family-led continuity.
The show gave Castello Branco’s Weill tenure its clearest public fashion statement. Its cinematic references and composed wardrobe placed the house’s established Parisian codes inside a runway format for the first time, making the collection a structural marker in Weill’s modern history as well as a seasonal proposition.
