About this collection
GLACIER began with fieldwork in Finnish Lapland, where Nakazato and dancer Evgeny Ganeev photographed the naked body against an extreme world of ice. Fragile ceramic armour and masks were made to crack, while metal chains were crocheted with mohair to join protection to slow, delicate handwork. The collection examined clothing as a response to human vulnerability and framed knitting as a quiet form of resistance.
