About this collection
INHERIT followed Nakazato’s visit to Kenya, where large quantities of unwanted clothing from global markets accumulate as waste. The collection used discarded garments while asking whether producing more clothing could be justified within that system. Generic denim and T-shirts became evidence of fashion’s global sameness and material for a couture response to disposal, labour and inherited responsibility.
