About this collection
UTAKATA was officially linked to Sidi Larbi Cherkaoui’s production of Mozart’s Idomeneo. Ancient armour, military dress and toxic masculinity were re-examined through fragile ceramic, glass and platinum ornament applied to recycled uniforms and workwear. Men appeared on the couture runway in garments that abandoned combat function for delicacy and exposure, while Cherkaoui co-created the show’s staging.
