In Illustration translated Barry Otto’s drawings and authorised imagery from 1920s fashion magazines into Zimmermann’s print and surface language. Lace, sequins, splicing, leather, shearling and embroidered accessories gave the collection a dense material range. The show’s detailed credits reveal the mature Paris network around Nicky Zimmermann’s fashion direction, including Romy Frydman, Michelle Jank, Mimi Xu, Anita Bitton, Damien Boissinot and Jodie Boland.
