Overview
Dubai Fashion Week became the principal runway platform of its current form in 2023, when Arab Fashion Week was reconfigured under a new name through Dubai Design District and the Arab Fashion Council. The event positions Dubai as a meeting point between Middle Eastern fashion, South Asian influence, luxury retail culture and international guest visibility. Its schedule spans runway shows, presentations and high-profile openings aimed at both regional and global audiences. Its character comes from ambition and connectivity.
Dubai does not mirror Paris or Milan, but it does offer a highly visible stage on which brands test reach, image and cross-market appeal in a city built around movement, hospitality and global retail. That gives the week a different kind of energy: less tied to inherited couture history, more to the idea of Dubai as a crossroads for fashion audiences and commercial networks.
