Lakmé Fashion Week x FDCI
Overview
Lakmé Fashion Week x FDCI occupies a central place in the Indian fashion calendar, bringing together established designers, younger labels and craft-focused presentations under a runway format that is both media-facing and commercially aware. The event grew out of Lakmé Fashion Week and now operates in partnership with the Fashion Design Council of India, with editions that have moved between major Indian fashion centres.
Its character lies in concentration. Occasionwear, bridal influence, contemporary ready-to-wear, textile-led work and experimental menswear all appear within the same schedule, giving the week a breadth that reflects the shape of Indian fashion itself rather than a single aesthetic line. It is also one of the main public stages where Indian designers make high-visibility seasonal statements for domestic and international audiences.
