Overview
Pitti Uomo is not a conventional fashion week, but it is one of the most important recurring stages in menswear. Held in Florence at the Fortezza da Basso, it combines the structure of a trade fair with the energy of a fashion event, drawing buyers, press, brands and designers into a setting where presentations, installations and invited runway moments carry outsized influence. Since 1972, it has helped define how menswear is shown, discussed and sold.
Collection presentation is not secondary to Pitti; it is one of the reasons the event matters. Guest designers, special projects and brand activations have repeatedly turned Florence into a key menswear destination outside the classic fashion-week format, and the fair’s visual culture has long shaped how men’s fashion is staged and read. It may sit adjacent to the formal runway calendar, but it has its own authority within menswear.
