Overview
Anthony Calydon is a Paris-based independent label founded by French designer Anthony Calydon in 2023. The project developed through social-media releases and direct orders before becoming a formally incorporated business under AOKARE SAS in February 2025. Its early growth has remained closely tied to a small Paris studio, where pieces are produced to order rather than through a conventional seasonal wholesale cycle.
The mainline combines street-derived forms with precise material and construction work. Ribbed knit structures, distorted hoods, elevated jersey sets, sculpted bags and tailored denim recur across a compact wardrobe produced in neutral shades. Calydon describes the clothing as everyday armour: familiar garments are reinforced through texture, weight and anatomical seam placement without losing the ease associated with sportswear.
A customized adidas Originals Superstar project brought the label wider attention in 2025, followed by a debut physical showcase with iRL Paris and pop-up activations in Tokyo and Osaka. In July 2026, Calydon received the €100,000 ANDAM Pierre Bergé Prize and a year of mentorship from WSN chief executive Frédéric Maus, giving the young business support for team development and measured international expansion.
Philosophy
Calydon works from material before silhouette. The handle and resistance of a fabric determine whether it becomes a hooded top, trouser, bag or outer layer, while ribbing and seam lines are used to shape the body rather than merely decorate the surface. The practice is grounded in direct making and in the close inspection of how a garment behaves when worn.
The label’s most recognisable ribbed structures draw on the scaled body of Lagiacrus from the Monster Hunter games. Translated into knitwear, footwear and accessories, the reference becomes a protective shell rather than an illustrative motif. Warped hoods and raised textures give soft jersey and knit forms a more architectural presence, balancing comfort with a sense of defence.
A restrained palette of black, white, grey and brown leaves the emphasis on texture, proportion and personal styling. Small-batch, made-to-order production limits inventory and keeps the design process close to the Paris studio, though it also defines the label’s current scale and delivery rhythm. This operational restraint is part of the work: growth is being built around construction and material continuity rather than a rapid multiplication of seasonal product.

The incorporation of AOKARE SAS gave the label a formal French operating structure. During the same year, Calydon extended the project through adidas footwear research, a first Paris showcase and short retail activations in Japan while retaining made-to-order production in Paris.
Calydon launched his eponymous Paris label through limited online releases and made-to-order production. Ribbed knit structures, warped hoods, jersey sets and tailored denim formed a compact visual system built for direct contact with an early digital audience.
