Spring/Summer 2003 demonstrates that 20471120’s fashion activity survived well beyond the first Tokyo Recycle Project experiments. Contemporary magazine coverage documents the collection backstage at the Tokyo Collection and identifies OVERLAP in direct connection with the label.
The season belongs to a period in which fashion and Nakagawa’s independent art practice were running side by side. Its importance within the archive is structural: 20471120 could still return to a recognisable runway context even after recycling, museum work and participatory projects had complicated the identity of the house.
