About this collection
Acne Studios worked with generative artist Robbie Barrat, training a neural network on images from the house archive. The design team translated the system’s warped bodies, misplaced seams and visual errors into patchworked garments, distorted prints and unfamiliar combinations of familiar Acne elements.
The collection treated artificial intelligence as an unstable collaborator rather than an automated designer. Its importance lies in making the errors of machine interpretation visible within the clothes and in foregrounding questions of archive, authorship and translation.
