Acne Studios

Autumn/Winter 2024 placed Villu Jaanisoo’s rubber-tyre chairs within the runway environment and used their industrial mass as a counterpart to the clothes. Biker leathers, distressed denim, faux fur and baroque surfaces created a wardrobe in which toughness was repeatedly softened or ornamented.

The show demonstrated how Acne Studios uses an existing artwork to structure the viewer’s reading of material. Rubber, leather and metal connected the installation to the garments without turning the chairs into decorative props.
