About this collection
Ann Demeulemeester’s first formal Paris runway used Edwardian-inflected tailoring, velvet frock coats, cropped trousers and substantial shoes to establish the label’s dark, androgynous line. Dove feathers attached to the seating introduced a motif that would recur throughout the founder era.
The show moved the house from showroom and trade presentation into the Paris catwalk system, giving its revisionist tailoring a clear international stage.
