About this collection
Area’s Fall 2018 runway consolidated the language that had developed through its early studio years: crystal fringe, oversized hoops, metallic and Lurex surfaces, sharp tailoring and compact party dresses. Beckett Fogg and Piotrek Panszczyk set masculine Italian suiting against Japanese avant-garde references, animal patterns and exaggerated feminine proportions.
The collection also widened the commercial structure through faux-fur accessories, the label’s first bags and expanded knitwear. The designers later identified this period as the point at which the industry began to understand Area as a complete fashion system rather than a source of isolated glittering products.
