About this collection
Area marked its tenth anniversary with a collection organised around identity and the physical evidence of the individual. Thumbprints became animal-like patterns and engraved hardware; worn leather, broad-shouldered tailoring, office plaques and officer caps moved between institutional uniform and personal mark.
Hands appeared as silk-taffeta appliqué, woven denim and protest graphics, while one-off leather pieces accumulated beads, spikes and archived studio embellishment. A Tinder-supported T-shirt project directed funds to Planned Parenthood, connecting the collection’s argument about bodily choice to a concrete partnership. Shown in September 2024, the runway became Piotrek Panszczyk’s final collection for Area before his departure the following February.
