About this collection
For Spring 2024, Area used the eye as a modular graphic system, moving from Pop and Surrealist references to circles, openings and floating crystal forms. Leather appliqué shaped cartoon eyes on shift dresses and coats, while cut-outs, circular hardware and a Dalmatian jacquard denim extended the motif into everyday categories.
The Starrett-Lehigh runway deliberately paired fantasy with product. Oversized crystal constructions, googly-eye dresses and crochet flowers appeared beside hot pants, wide-leg jeans, shirtdresses, jersey and cotton pieces that carried the same visual research at a different scale. The show demonstrated how Area’s see-now-buy-now structure connected couture-format spectacle to immediate retail.
