About this collection
Conner Ives’s first runway assembled 26 fictional American women into a deliberately exuberant cast. Characters drawn from fashion magazines, reality television, suburban adolescence and films including The Devil Wears Prada and The Sopranos gave each look a social role rather than a single seasonal theme.
Patchworked T-shirt dresses expanded into bias-cut scarf dresses, reconstituted military blankets, sequin jersey, sharp daywear and heightened evening pieces. The NEWGEN show at the Old Selfridges Hotel established that the label’s reclaimed materials could support a complete runway wardrobe, not only the signature product on which its early retail recognition had been built.
