About this collection
Dries Van Noten presented his first Paris menswear runway show on 5 July 1991 in the basement of the Hotel Saint-James & Albany. Later recalled under the theme Fear and Fortune, the modest production transferred the house from London trade presentation to the Paris calendar.
The show also began Van Noten’s long collaboration with producer Etienne Russo. Its importance lies in the infrastructure it established rather than in a fully documented set of signature garments.
