Dries Van Noten

Spring/Summer 2016 built a layered womenswear wardrobe from palm and paisley prints, tie-dye, chiffon and second-skin gloves that resembled tattooed sleeves. Muted purple and beige were interrupted by teal and hot pink, while cinched forms and slouching layers kept historical references from settling into one period.

The collection demonstrates Van Noten’s ability to hold numerous silhouettes and decorative systems together through colour and styling. Its density remains controlled by the practical movement of the clothes.
