About this collection
Spring/Summer 2019 was presented at London’s National Portrait Gallery and built around Fanny and Stella. Their history supplied the collection with a frame for performance, dress and gender in nineteenth-century Britain, placing the runway inside a portrait institution whose setting reinforced the season’s interest in public identity and self-presentation.
