Autumn/Winter 2023 places Junya Watanabe’s womenswear in the landscape of future female travellers, with Kashmir references and exploration wear shaping the mood. Shown at the Oratoire du Louvre, the collection draws on utility without becoming purely functional. Layers, protective shapes and journey-ready garments carry a practical romance, as if clothing were built for movement through imagined terrain. Watanabe’s interest in archetypes appears through travel clothing and outerwear systems, softened by textile reference and a sense of purposeful wandering through hostile weather.
