About this collection
Spring 2019 opened Monse’s runway to male models for the first time and folded a unisex capsule into a collection already grounded in oversized menswear references. Nautical stripes, plaid, loose knits and reconstructed shirts moved across bodies with different proportions, testing how far the founders’ asymmetric language could travel beyond a conventional womenswear cast.
The collection broadened Monse’s audience without creating a separate menswear line. Its importance lies in the flexibility of the original design system: shirts, tailoring and knitwear could change scale and gender address while remaining recognisably Monse.
