Monse marked its tenth anniversary at UOVO in Long Island City with a runway that treated the house archive as working material. Nautical references, sailor stripes, workwear, leather and crisp shirting were filtered through the stacked waistbands and distorted tailoring that had defined the brand since its debut, while the first Sperry collaboration introduced platform and translucent boat shoes into the silhouette.

The collection arrived three days before Kim and Garcia announced their forthcoming departure from Oscar de la Renta. As a result, the anniversary show now reads as a hinge between Monse’s decade of dual-house operation and the founders’ decision to concentrate their creative work on the company they started together.
