About this collection
N.HOOLYWOOD’s Spring/Summer 2019 collection was first shown in New York on 11 July 2018 after Daisuke Obana’s research trip through Arizona. Arcosanti, Frank Lloyd Wright-related architecture, James Turrell’s Roden Crater and motifs associated with Kiowa artist T.C. Cannon entered the collection as references within a broader study of landscape, architecture and American cultural history.
On 16 October 2018 the same collection was presented again on the official Tokyo runway calendar, N.HOOLYWOOD’s first Tokyo show in roughly eight and a half years. The second presentation made the season a rare two-city statement and reconnected the label’s New York-era practice with the Japanese runway system from which it had emerged.
