The visual record is still being traced. It will appear here once found.
About this collection
Schiaparelli’s first independent output centred on geometric hand-knit sportswear, culminating in the November 1927 trompe-l’œil bow-knot sweater. Elsa Schiaparelli supplied the graphic idea; Aroosiag Mikaëlian engineered the Armenian two-tone knitting that kept the image stable on the body and helped organise production through a network of Armenian women in Paris.
