About this collection
Alessandra Facchinetti’s first Tod’s collection was also the house’s first widely documented full runway. Leather and suede were cut into shirtdresses, full skirts, ponchos and double-breasted trouser suits, while ballet-derived flats and fringed Gommino revisions kept footwear close to the ground.
The show shifted ready-to-wear from a supporting category to the frame through which shoes and bags were read. Its succession significance lies in the move from Derek Lam’s presentation-led women’s work to a regular Milan runway sequence.
