Introduction
Bibiána Zdútová is a Slovak fashion executive and creative strategist born on 22 January 1967 in Partizánske, Czechoslovakia, a town shaped by the country’s footwear industry. She studied at the Faculty of Arts at Comenius University in Bratislava and later worked across companies in Slovakia’s creative industries. A two-year period living in London exposed her to a more international cultural environment before she joined the project that became the modern Nehera revival.
When Ladislav Zdút developed the idea of reactivating the Nehera name through his advertising business, Bibiána took responsibility for the fashion strategy. She assembled the creative design team, helped establish the collection structure and participated directly in creating the early output. The revived label launched publicly in Paris in 2014 with Samuel Drira as its first creative director, while Bibiána remained central to the organisation and development of the collection team.
After Drira’s departure in March 2017, Bibiána and Ladislav retained strategic creative direction and moved forward with a collective studio model. Contemporary coverage called her director in 2017 and creative director in early 2018. The collections continued through an international Bratislava-based team, with Bibiána involved in maintaining the label’s principles, setting direction and evaluating proposals from the designers.
She became a statutory managing director of NEHERA SK s.r.o. in 2020 and is currently identified as Collection & Managing Director. In that role she combines collection oversight, creative vision and strategic management while sharing long-term direction with Ladislav and the internal teams. Current public records also identify the pair as beneficial owners of the operating company.
Design ethos
Zdútová’s practice is built around collective authorship. She has described Nehera’s collections as the product of several designers and their teams, each bringing references and proposals into a shared process. Her role is to hold the broader direction, identify what belongs within the label’s vocabulary and keep successive collections coherent without reducing the studio to a single designer’s signature.
Diversity is central to that method. Her experience in London and her work assembling an international team informed a structure in which different cultural and professional viewpoints can enter the collection while common principles remain stable. The result depends on editing and dialogue, with tailoring, functional comfort, material quality and ease acting as recurring anchors.
Her collection leadership also connects creative decisions to the practical life of the brand. Womenswear, the later menswear line, accessories and retail presentation are developed as parts of one coherent identity, with attention to how garments move, layer and live in a wardrobe. This gives her role a broad scope across design direction and management while leaving individual garment development to the designers working within the studio.
