Céline Vipiana

Céline Vipiana was a French fashion designer and the pioneering founder of the luxury house Celine, which she established in 1945. She began her career with a bespoke children's shoe boutique in Paris before successfully expanding into women's ready-to-wear, leather goods, and accessories. Vipiana led the brand for over fifty years, guiding its evolution from a niche footwear maker into a global symbol of Parisian elegance and sophisticated modernism. She remained the head designer until her death in 1997.

Throughout her tenure, Vipiana was instrumental in defining the concept of French luxury sportswear, creating high-quality garments that catered to the self-assured women of the post-war era. Her leadership established the brand’s core identity, including the iconic 'Blazon Chaine' logo inspired by the Arc de Triomphe.
