Introduction
Dushane Noble is a Jamaican-born American fashion designer raised in Brooklyn. He learned to alter and make clothes with the help of a local tailor before studying fashion design at the Fashion Institute of Technology. Early roles at Oscar de la Renta, Peter Som and Donna Karan were followed by TSE, where he developed a specialist command of knitwear.
Noble became senior knitwear designer at Helmut Lang from 2011 to 2014 and then spent four years with Narciso Rodriguez, helping develop the house’s knitwear category. Francesco Fucci recruited him to Theory in 2018 as director of knitwear, placing that technical expertise inside a brand whose identity already depended heavily on fabric, fit and modular wardrobe building.
In April 2024, Theory appointed Noble Head of Design for Women’s Ready-to-Wear. He now leads womenswear while Martin Andersson continues to direct menswear, with the two studios sharing fabrics and a more closely coordinated wardrobe language. Noble’s Spring and Fall 2026 collections established his own public authorship through softened tailoring, precise fit and material-driven minimalism.
Design ethos
Noble’s work begins with craft and proportion, shaped by the practical knowledge of making clothes and by years specialising in knitwear. He uses fibre, density, stretch and hand to control how a garment sits on the body, extending that sensitivity into tailoring, outerwear and dresses.
At Theory, his womenswear combines restrained silhouettes with small technical shifts: softened structure, fluid trousers, engineered fit and fabrics that can cross between formal and everyday use. The result is a quiet form of innovation in which construction and wearability carry the visual character.

Career history
2024
Following Jeffrey Kalinsky’s departure, Theory moved into a category-led creative structure under Dushane Noble for women’s ready-to-wear and Martin Andersson for menswear. Their studios coordinate fabrics and wardrobe logic across the brand, with no publicly identified overall creative director above the two categories.
2024
Theory appointed Dushane Noble Head of Design for Women’s Ready-to-Wear in April 2024 after six years inside the company, initially as director of knitwear. He became the named womenswear category lead through the post-Kalinsky structure and remains in the role at the August 2026 evidence cutoff.
2018
Dushane Noble joined Theory in 2018 as director of knitwear after being recruited during Francesco Fucci’s womenswear tenure. The role placed him inside the category studio six years before his promotion to head of women’s ready-to-wear design.
