Introduction
Elie Weill is a French fashion executive and the fifth-generation operational leader of Weill. Born in May 1982, he entered the family company at senior level by 2007, when he became director-general of Weill Productions 3. His career developed across the manufacturing, property and international structures surrounding the house before he assumed broader authority over the current operating company.
On 20 March 2023 Elie became the registered directeur général of SAS WEILL as Bernard and Jean-Pierre Weill left their director-general offices. The company entered judicial reorganisation in February 2024 and continued trading through the observation period. A ten-year recovery plan was approved in September 2025, with the family holding company LOVING designated to execute it and Elie representing the holding structure; the plan was modified in July 2026.
His current mandate combines executive recovery with a renewed product and image strategy. Weill has brought in a new design team, refreshed stores and wholesale activity and redefined W as an elevated annual capsule developed with rotating guest designers. Current clothing is created by the Paris studio and unnamed contributors, with Elie directing the house and its commercial transformation. Individual garment authorship remains with the Paris studio and its contributors.
Design ethos
Elie’s approach is organised around renewal of the house system as a whole. Product, stores, wholesale relationships, digital commerce and image are being rebuilt together, giving the mainline a clearer contemporary frame during a period of financial recovery.
The redefined W capsule adds a controlled space for outside creative input. Its elevated materials, higher price position and rotating guest model create a distinct layer above the main collection, while the permanent studio maintains the core women’s ready-to-wear offer.
Design responsibility under his leadership is collective. The Paris team develops the garments and external specialists enter selected projects, with executive direction establishing the brief, resources and market structure around that work.

2025
On 26 September 2025, the Paris economic court approved a ten-year recovery plan for SAS WEILL and designated LOVING, represented by Elie Weill, to execute it. A judgement on 3 July 2026 modified the plan as the house continued retail, e-commerce and seasonal fashion activity.
2025
In January 2025, Weill redefined W as an elevated annual capsule series using rotating guest designers, exceptional fabrics and pricing above the main line. Elie Weill directed the wider structure, Marie-Amélie Sauvé styled the first campaign and the first guest designer’s identity remained undisclosed.
2025
By 2025, Weill had installed a renewed design team working under Elie Weill’s operational direction. No individual successor to Mathilde Castello Branco has been publicly identified, so the current clothing is attributable to the Paris house studio while Elie directs the wider product and business structure.
2024
On 20 February 2024, the Paris Commercial Court opened judicial reorganisation for SAS WEILL, with cessation of payments fixed at 8 February. The house continued trading through the observation period as Elie Weill pursued a broader commercial, product and image reset.
2023
Elie Weill became directeur général of SAS WEILL on 20 March 2023, formalising fifth-generation executive authority after years of operating involvement. His remit encompasses the company’s commercial renewal and design-team structure, with the Paris studio retaining collective clothing authorship.
