Introduction
Hed Mayner is an Israeli fashion designer born in 1985 in Amuka, a small village in the Galilee. Raised by a painter mother and a metalworker father, he began making clothes as a teenager and developed an early interest in pattern-making, hand sewing, leather and jewellery. He graduated with honours from the Bezalel Academy of Arts and Design in Jerusalem in 2012 and later continued his fashion studies at the Institut Français de la Mode in Paris.
Mayner founded his eponymous label in 2015, initially working from Israel while presenting the collections through Paris showroom appointments. The house entered the official Paris menswear calendar with Spring/Summer 2018 and quickly became known for a silhouette built from shifted balance, collapsing tailoring and the physical distance between garment and body. In 2019 he received the Karl Lagerfeld Prize at the LVMH Prize for Young Fashion Designers.
As founder and continuing artistic director, Mayner has carried the label through digital pandemic presentations, an expanded Italian production network and collaborations with Reebok, Desigual, Quoddy and Opera GX. His January 2026 invitation as Guest Designer at Pitti Uomo 109 brought the house to Florence for a special runway before it returned to the Paris calendar later that year.
Design ethos
Mayner approaches menswear through disproportion, using pattern changes to produce a specific posture instead of enlarging conventional garments uniformly. Jackets can contract across the chest and swell through the back, armholes drop, trousers shift away from standard balance and familiar wardrobe pieces acquire the awkward authority of clothing inherited from someone with a different body. The apparent mistake becomes a precise tool for changing movement and attitude.
He is equally interested in what fabric remembers. Lurex-woven wool can keep the impression of a hand, bonded jersey can hold blunt sculptural planes, and fused or unlined garments expose construction that tailoring would usually conceal. Joined shirts, embedded chains, stretched faux fur and softened sportswear let wear, pressure and displacement become part of the finished surface.
Mayner’s references range from Orthodox and Hasidic dress to military uniforms, workwear, domestic clothing and Japanese garment geometry. He extracts their physical structures—rectangles, canvas weight, modest coverage, utility volume and repeated uniforms—and recasts them through a luxury menswear practice produced in Italy. The result is clothing whose scale and balance remain open enough to be worn across different bodies without becoming a separate womenswear system.

Career history
2025
Pitti Immagine named Hed Mayner Guest Designer for Pitti Uomo 109 in October 2025. The invitation culminated in a special runway at Palazzina Reale di Santa Maria Novella in Florence on 14 January 2026, after which the house resumed its Paris menswear schedule.
2025
Opera GX and Hed Mayner launched Prêt-à-Portable on 28 January 2025. The limited project centred on an oversized PC Purse and utility garments whose exaggerated storage translated Mayner’s scale and proportion into a technology-oriented capsule.
2023
Desigual released a twelve-piece capsule with Hed Mayner in November 2023. The project translated Mayner’s generous proportions and altered wardrobe basics into the Spanish company’s first fully genderless capsule.
2023
Hed Mayner began a continuing collaboration with Reebok around 2023, reshaping familiar footwear through collapsed padding, washing, distortion and softened structure. The relationship expanded across multiple seasons and remained active through Reebok LTD product releases in 2026.
2019
Hed Mayner received the Karl Lagerfeld Prize at the LVMH Prize on 4 September 2019. The award brought a €150,000 endowment and a year of mentorship across areas including sourcing, production, distribution and intellectual property.
2017
Hed Mayner entered the official Paris menswear calendar with the Spring/Summer 2018 season in June 2017. The move shifted the label from private showroom circulation into a recurring international runway schedule while retaining its Israel-rooted design vocabulary.
2016
Hed Mayner was nominated for the ANDAM Grand Prix in 2016 as the young label expanded beyond its first Paris showroom seasons. The nomination provided an early institutional recognition before the house entered the official Paris menswear calendar.
2015
Hed Mayner has led the creative direction of his eponymous label since 2015. His continuing authorship spans the showroom years, Paris calendar entry, the Karl Lagerfeld Prize, international collaborations and the Pitti Uomo 109 guest show.
2015
Hed Mayner made his earliest verified professional presentation through a Paris showroom from 23 to 29 January 2015. The debut introduced the label’s displaced tailoring and acid-processed outerwear to buyers in Paris, establishing the showroom model that preceded its later official-calendar entry.
2015
Hed Mayner established his eponymous label in 2015 after studying at Bezalel Academy and the Institut Français de la Mode. Early operations developed from Jerusalem and Tel Aviv while the collections entered the market through Paris showroom appointments.
