Hironori Ichinose

Hironori Ichinose is a Japanese fashion designer who studied apparel design at Bunka Fashion College in Tokyo and, while still a student, began UNDERCOVER with classmate Jun Takahashi in 1990. The label's earliest activity centred on hand-printed T-shirts and direct sales, placing both founders inside the student and street culture from which the brand developed. Ichinose's role at UNDERCOVER is firmly tied to the foundation and the label's earliest activity. Later seasonal collection authorship is attributed to Takahashi.

Ichinose's importance to UNDERCOVER lies in the fact that the house began as a shared student project before Takahashi's later career became its defining public authorship. The precise division of responsibilities between the two founders during those first years is not part of the public house chronology, and no end date is attached to Ichinose's founding relationship. His page therefore preserves the co-founder credit without extending it into unsupported later collection authorship.
