Introduction
Illya Goldman Gubin is a Berlin-based multidisciplinary artist working through I G G Atelier. His practice crosses sculpture and wearable objects, with a documented collaboration with Leon Emanuel Blanck beginning in 2021. For STRUKTUR, footwear designed by Blanck was incorporated into sculptural constructions that could remain intact as artworks or be broken open to release the shoes for wear.
Goldman Gubin later took artistic direction of LEB, a secondary line within Leon Emanuel Blanck’s wider practice, working alongside Blanck’s creative vision. LEB developed its own archive, retail section and seasonal collections, including Kollektion Eins and Kollektion Zwei, establishing a continuing authorship role beyond the earlier STRUKTUR project.
Design ethos
Goldman Gubin’s work with Leon Emanuel Blanck uses the friction between functional object and sculpture as a working premise. STRUKTUR placed footwear inside an artwork that could be kept whole or physically breached, making possession, use and destruction part of the object’s design.
Within LEB, his role is defined as artistic direction, with Blanck providing creative vision. The line gives that partnership a recurring fashion context through garments, footwear, image and presentation, while preserving a distinction between Goldman Gubin’s artistic direction and Blanck’s authorship of the parent label.

Illya Goldman Gubin collaborated with Leon Emanuel Blanck on STRUKTUR in 2021, embedding Distortion footwear within sculptural works. The shoes could remain sealed inside the artwork or be released only by breaking into it, making use and destruction part of the project’s form.
