Introduction
Nicolas Bijan Pakzad is an American luxury-business executive and entrepreneur associated with the post-founder development of House of Bijan. The son of Bijan Pakzad, he worked within the family company before his father’s death in 2011 and subsequently became its most visible public leader, variously described in sources as owner, co-owner, CEO or co-CEO.
His work at House of Bijan has focused on continuity and selective expansion. The company opened boutiques at the Waldorf Astoria Beverly Hills and Wynn Las Vegas, sold the original 420 N Rodeo Drive property to LVMH without selling the brand, and transferred its flagship to a larger space at 443 N Rodeo Drive. These changes preserved the private-client business while making parts of the house more accessible to hotel and international customers.
Pakzad also founded NB44, a separate membership-based menswear venture built around Italian manufacture, digital client profiles and curated wardrobe deliveries. Although it draws on the family’s experience of personal service, NB44 has its own brand identity and should not be treated as a House of Bijan diffusion line.
Design ethos
Pakzad’s contribution to House of Bijan lies in adapting a personality-led founder business to a more distributed service model. He has retained appointment culture, colour and Italian production while using satellite boutiques and new client channels to reduce dependence on one historic showroom.
The product approach remains wardrobe-based rather than seasonal. Formal tailoring, leisure pieces and accessories are considered through the habits and travel needs of individual clients, with the retail environment continuing to carry much of the brand’s meaning.
NB44 translates similar principles into a quieter and more digital structure. Membership, recurring deliveries and stored preferences replace the open e-commerce catalogue, showing Pakzad’s interest in modernising private-client service without converting it into ordinary mass luxury.
