Introduction
Delfina Delettrez Fendi is an Italian jewellery designer and fourth-generation member of the Fendi family. She founded her independent jewellery house in 2007, developing a surreal, anatomical and technically exact language distinct from the family company. In 2020 she was appointed Artistic Director of Jewellery at Fendi.
At Fendi, Delettrez works across fashion jewellery and high jewellery, translating house codes into precious materials without simply miniaturising handbags or logos. Her role added a dedicated jewellery authorship to the house’s existing division of womenswear, menswear and accessories, and made the fourth generation part of Fendi’s formal creative structure.
Design ethos
Delfina Delettrez Fendi approaches jewellery as an object in unstable relation to the body. Stones appear suspended, settings expose unexpected angles, and familiar motifs are displaced until an eye, hand or letter becomes slightly uncanny. The work balances traditional Italian goldsmithing with optical play and precise engineering.
For Fendi, she adapts that method to the house’s hardware, yellow, FF geometry and Roman references. The strongest pieces retain the scale and finish of high jewellery while carrying the graphic economy of an accessory clasp or a line of Selleria stitching. Her independent practice remains separate, giving her Fendi work a productive tension between family code and personal authorship.
