Introduction
Joe Farage is a fashion designer and co-founder of Farage, the Sydney label he established with Katy Farage in 1998. The business began from his search for a slim-fit tailored shirt and opened directly into retail at the Strand Arcade. Farage’s early years were shaped by hands-on learning in production and construction, with both founders developing the company’s tailoring and manufacturing knowledge as the label grew.
Farage expanded from menswear into womenswear in 2003 and later developed a substantial corporate clothing business alongside ready-to-wear and made-to-measure tailoring. By 2023 Joe held the title of creative director and had become the named design lead on major institutional projects, including wardrobes for Royal Australian Air Force 33 and 34 Squadrons and a 2019 Australian Defence Force contract. He also designed the Farage Forward menswear runway shown at Australian Fashion Week in 2026.
In 2019, Farage co-founded the separate technical outdoor label Two.One with Quentin Hart. The brand launched publicly in Sydney in July 2024 with performance outerwear and Woolmark-certified Woven Shield products. His work across Farage and Two.One links traditional tailoring, technical fabrics, institutional clothing and contemporary menswear without collapsing those projects into a single product line.
Design ethos
Farage’s work begins with fit and material. The original Farage proposition was built around a slim tailored shirt, and his later descriptions of the design process repeatedly return to fabric sourcing, small adjustments of proportion and the construction standards required to make tailoring feel precise without becoming rigid.
His institutional work added another set of constraints: durability, movement, service requirements and performance textiles. The RAAF wardrobe and Australian Defence Force garments placed wool tailoring within practical uniform systems, while Farage’s broader production model kept Sydney shirtmaking alongside specialist European suiting. Those projects strengthened a design practice in which the intended use of a garment determines fabric, construction and finish.
Recent menswear makes that relationship more visible. Farage Forward combined technical and utilitarian outerwear with fluid shirts, cummerbund styling and evening tailoring, while Two.One developed Merino-based technical jackets and protective layers. Across both labels, Farage’s design authorship is most legible where formal clothing is adjusted for movement, weather and everyday utility.

Career history
2023
By July 2023, Joe Farage held the title of Farage creative director, continuing the creative authority he had exercised as co-founder. He remains the house’s current menswear designer and led the Farage Forward runway shown at Australian Fashion Week in 2026.
2023
Farage opened Farage House at 109 Riley Street, Darlinghurst, in July 2023 as a five-level flagship and headquarters developed with Greg Natale. Moving creative, marketing and office teams from the Surry Hills factory into the new building freed production space as corporate apparel had grown to roughly half of company turnover.
2019
The Australian Defence Force contracted Farage in 2019 to design and produce several non-combat corporate garments. The work included the tri-service General Duty dress issued from October 2020 and selected men’s and women’s trench coats, extending the label’s uniform practice beyond its earlier RAAF squadron wardrobe.
2019
Joe Farage and Quentin Hart have directed Two.One’s design since its 2019 foundation, developing technical outdoor clothing around performance materials and tailored urban proportions. Their work reached a public runway launch in Sydney in July 2024 and continues through the brand’s current commercial collection.
2019
Joe Farage and Quentin Hart founded Two.One in 2019 as a technical outdoor clothing brand combining performance materials with tailoring references. The separately named company became active in 2020 and developed toward a public Sydney launch in July 2024.
2018
Farage designed and manufactured a complete wardrobe for the men and women of Royal Australian Air Force 33 and 34 Squadrons in 2018. The Australian-made, Merino wool-rich system covered tailoring, shirts, dresses, outerwear and accessories while balancing military references with durability and practical movement.
2008
Farage began a long-running formalwear and sponsorship relationship with the Sydney Swans around 2008–2010, supplying event suits for players, coaches and staff rather than on-field kit. The partnership became a durable extension of the house’s tailoring business and was renewed in 2024 through the end of 2028.
2003
Farage expanded into womenswear in 2003 under the joint direction of Joe and Katy Farage and opened its first women’s store in the Strand Arcade. The new category required faster product development and more frequent pattern work, broadening the operating rhythm of the originally menswear-led business.
1998
Joe and Katy Farage founded Farage in Sydney in 1998, launching an initially menswear-focused business from the Strand Arcade around tailored shirts and suiting. The brand’s public foundation predates the later Farage Pty Limited company entity and established the founder partnership that still leads the house.
