Introduction
Olivier Theyskens is a Belgian fashion designer whose career spans his namesake practice and creative roles at Rochas, Nina Ricci, Theory and Azzaro. His work is associated with elongated proportion, historical construction and a persistent movement between severe tailoring and romantic dressmaking.
Around 2024, Theyskens began developing Boloria with WEAREONE.world. The house was publicly introduced in September 2025 with Theyskens formally titled creative director, although his role is more accurately understood as a founding creative partnership than a conventional appointment to an established label. Public evidence does not confirm a legal founder title, equity participation or shareholder status.
He presented Boloria’s first runway collection, Le Monde Flottant, in Paris on 5 July 2026. The collection returned him to sustained co-ed design through monumental gowns, bias-cut dresses, menswear tailoring and functional outerwear, while establishing a separate institutional identity from his namesake label.
Design ethos
Theyskens builds silhouette through length, suspension and controlled imbalance. Pannier structures, trains, bias-cut dresses and attenuated tailoring reshape the body without reducing the work to historical quotation. His menswear uses the same concern with proportion through long coats, narrow trousers, waistcoats and layered shirting.
Material is treated as structure and atmosphere. Taffeta, organza, tulle, silk charmeuse, lace, fine wool, cashmere and leather move between volume, translucency and restraint, while subtle embroidery and handwork replace overt branding.
At Boloria, this method is joined to an invented house memory. The theatrical opening of Le Monde Flottant gives way to daywear and rainwear, making fantasy and utility consecutive parts of one wardrobe rather than opposing categories.
