Overview
Boloria is an Antwerp-based Belgian fashion house publicly introduced in September 2025. It was developed with WEAREONE.world, the company behind Tomorrowland, with Olivier Theyskens as its founding creative partner and formally credited creative director. Manu and Michiel Beers, the co-founders of WEAREONE.world, initiated and backed the project, while the house’s legal ownership and shareholding remain undisclosed.
The first public phase began with a black-and-white campaign photographed by Willy Vanderperre, establishing an austere visual identity before any runway collection appeared. Boloria made its runway debut in Paris on 5 July 2026 with Le Monde Flottant, a co-ed Spring/Summer 2027 ready-to-wear collection shown at Lycée Carnot.
The house is organised from Antwerp and has recruited development and pattern-atelier roles through WEAREONE.world. Its commercial structure is still emerging: made-to-order gowns and an ecommerce framework have been signalled, but stockists, delivery territories and a complete retail programme had not been publicly established by July 2026.
Philosophy
Boloria is built around an invented patrimony. Its name comes from the Boloria butterfly genus, while the recurring date 1899 belongs to the house mythology rather than its corporate history. Theyskens uses this historical fiction to give a new institution the atmosphere of a house with a longer memory, without presenting the symbolism as a literal foundation date.
The design language moves between dream and utility. Monumental pannier gowns, bias-cut dresses and lace-veiled tailoring sit alongside elongated coats, narrow trousers, waistcoats, rainwear and knitwear. Menswear and womenswear are developed within the same narrative, allowing theatrical volume and functional wardrobe pieces to share one system.
Material and construction carry more weight than overt branding. Taffeta, organza, tulle, silk, fine wool, cashmere, lace and leather are used through controlled volume, attenuated proportion and precise surface work. The restrained image direction, hidden faces and institutional presentation extend this discipline beyond the clothes.
