Introduction
Boris Bidjan Saberi is a German-Iranian fashion designer born in Munich in 1978 and professionally based in Catalonia. Raised near textile production and tailoring, he began altering vintage denim and military clothing during the 1990s before undertaking formal fashion studies in Barcelona. The supplied evidence supports completion of those studies in 2006, while the exact school and relocation chronology remain disputed.
After a student-era leather-accessory project, Saberi established his eponymous label in 2006–2007 and presented its first recovered collection in Barcelona for Spring/Summer 2008. He quickly moved onto the Paris menswear calendar and built a practice around controlled atelier production, treated leather, denim and anatomical pattern systems. In 2013 he founded 11 by Boris Bidjan Saberi, a separate technical streetwear child brand that became closely associated with Salomon footwear and other performance partnerships.
Saberi closed the historical Barcelona production and operating structure in 2025 after stating that its manufacturing standards could no longer be maintained under the existing conditions. The dedicated 11 by BBS company was extinguished, while the principal company survived and adopted a broader creative-services remit in 2026. Because Saberi described the change as a transformation and no confirmed retirement is documented, his People record remains not retired even though both public labels are currently inactive.
Design ethos
Saberi designs through direct physical manipulation. Leather, felt, denim and technical fabrics are cut on or around the body, then washed, coated, cold-dyed, oxidised or moulded until construction and surface become inseparable. Repeated garment codes allow the studio to test how the same pattern changes under different materials, treatments and stages of wear.
His silhouettes combine German industrial exactness with draping and wrapping associated with Persian and broader Middle Eastern clothing. Long torsos, narrow sleeves, low crotches, articulated knees and internal straps answer the movement of skateboarding, climbing and urban travel. Protective clothing, military hardware and workwear are treated as functional sources rather than as costume.
Saberi’s authorship also depends on the limits he sets around production. Specialist European labour, controlled finishing and small-batch variation were central to the garments’ form and could not be separated from their economics. 11 by BBS expanded the vocabulary through external manufacturers and performance partners, but retained the division between Saberi’s silhouette and finishing decisions and the technical systems supplied by collaborators.

Career history
2026
On 31 March 2026 Boris Bidjan Saberi SL absorbed Laboratory B.B.S 2016 SL, changed its registered address and adopted a broader object centred on creative direction, design and visual strategy. The filing proves legal continuation after the fashion operation closed, but it does not establish a revived label, consultancy launch or new collection practice.
2025
Saberi informed retail partners in May 2025 that the historical production company and operating configuration would close at the end of July because the required manufacturing standards were no longer viable under existing conditions. Spring/Summer 2026 was delivered as the final seasonal output from that structure, but the statement did not establish permanent retirement or the disappearance of the public name.
2025
11 BY BORIS BIDJAN SABERI SL was extinguished in the Spanish mercantile registry on 21 August 2025 after liquidator appointments. The legal act ended the dedicated operating company, while the status of the public name, remaining inventory and collaboration intellectual property requires separate evidence.
2025
The May 2025 closure announcement applied to the production and operating system that supported both the mainline and 11 by BBS, with an effective target at the end of July. Remaining seasonal inventory and later retailer labels do not demonstrate a renewed authored collection practice after that shutdown.
2017
A corporate segregation created dedicated operating entities for 11 by Boris Bidjan Saberi and Laboratory B.B.S, with operations dated from 27 November 2017 and registry publication following in 2018. The reorganisation separated parts of the portfolio while Boris Bidjan Saberi SL remained the controlling company at formation.
2017
11 BY BORIS BIDJAN SABERI SL began operations on 27 November 2017 following segregation from the principal company and was registered in 2018. Boris Bidjan Saberi SL was the sole shareholder at formation, confirming a dedicated operator without making the child brand independent of the main corporate system.
2016
In April 2016 the label consolidated archive, production, studio and retail functions in Barcelona’s Poblenou industrial district. The former textile-factory setting gave the studio space for dyeing, finishing, cutting and assembly while the flagship operated as both shop and working archive.
2013
Saberi remained the central creative author of 11 by BBS from its launch through the end of the historical operating structure. External companies supplied footwear, waterproof construction and specialist performance knowledge, but no separate creative director or successor designer is documented.
2013
Boris Bidjan Saberi launched 11 by Boris Bidjan Saberi in 2013 as a distinct technical streetwear and performance label within his wider brand system. Its public identity, seasonal archive and commercial remit were separate from the artisanal mainline even before a dedicated legal company was formed.
2010
BORIS BIDJAN SABERI SL began operations on 1 April 2010 and was registered later that month with Saberi as sole shareholder and sole administrator. The act formalised the operating company several years after the public label had already been established and must not replace the brand’s earlier foundation date.
2007
Saberi directed the mainline from its establishment through the closure of the historical production system in 2025. He controlled collection design, material development, pattern systems and the visual logic of the atelier rather than serving under a separate house owner or appointed creative lead.
2007
Boris Bidjan Saberi established his eponymous label after completing fashion studies in Barcelona, with the formation period bounded to 2006–2007. The first recovered public collection followed for Spring/Summer 2008, so the foundation is recorded without inventing a single legal or presentation date.
