Introduction
Quentin Hart is a British fashion designer whose career connects London luxury menswear with technical outdoor clothing in New Zealand and Australia. After completing a four-year Bachelor of Fashion Design at the University of the West of England, he began his career with Jasper Conran in 2004 and joined Tom Ford in 2006 as the designer was establishing his eponymous house. Hart worked on menswear between the London design office and production in Milan for three years before leaving the label and relocating to Christchurch in 2009.
In New Zealand, Hart moved from luxury fashion into performance and outdoor product. He worked across men's and women's design at Macpac, co-founded Alchemy Equipment in 2013 and later led design at Swanndri after joining the heritage outdoor brand in 2015. His Swanndri work extended the company's familiar bush-shirt language into a wider urban and travel wardrobe, including the Autumn/Winter 2017 collection shown at iD Dunedin Fashion Week.
Hart's Australian work developed in parallel. He has consulted on Farage menswear since 2011, covering creative direction, design and development, and in 2019 co-founded the separate technical outdoor label Two.One with Joe Farage. Two.One brought Hart's outdoor-product experience into direct contact with Farage's tailoring knowledge, reaching a public Sydney launch in 2024 with technical outerwear built around Merino wool and Japanese performance textiles.
Design ethos
Hart's working method was formed in London houses where tailoring sat inside a complete wardrobe. At Jasper Conran and Tom Ford, he worked across a design culture that treated cut, fabrication and finish as interconnected decisions; at Ford, the launch-stage studio demanded exacting development across menswear while garments moved between London design work and Italian production. That discipline remained part of his practice after he left the luxury sector.
New Zealand outdoor design introduced a different set of constraints: weather protection, durability, movement, weight and the expectations attached to established local products. At Macpac and Alchemy Equipment, Hart applied fashion training to technical clothing, while Swanndri required a close reading of an unusually durable brand code. His approach there kept the iconic bush shirt intact while widening the surrounding wardrobe for city, travel and contemporary everyday use.
Farage and Two.One bring those strands together. Hart's long-running Farage consultancy places him inside a tailoring-led menswear business, while Two.One gives performance construction a more explicit role in the silhouette. Its Woven Shield system bonds Merino wool to Japanese technical backing for wind and water resistance, allowing field jackets, rainwear and tailored forms to share the same material logic without disguising their practical purpose.

Quentin Hart joined Tom Ford's menswear team in 2006 as the eponymous label was being established, working between the London design office and production in Milan. He remained for three years, contributing to the early menswear studio before leaving in 2009 and relocating to New Zealand.
