2026 in fashion
2026 is under watch
The 2026 chronology is being collected, checked and edited while the year is still moving. We are tracking the events likely to define its eventual shape: Demna’s first Gucci runway, Antonin Tron’s Balmain debut, Rachel Scott’s first Proenza Schouler show, Jonathan Anderson’s Dior haute couture debut, Matthieu Blazy’s first Chanel couture collection, and Pieter Mulier’s final Alaïa runway before his move to Versace.
The record is already stretching beyond the obvious headline debuts. Joseph has returned to the London Fashion Week catwalk after last showing in September 2017, Maison Margiela’s Shanghai show under Glenn Martens has gained extra force through the house’s absence from the official Paris AW26–27 calendar, Stefano Gabbana’s withdrawal from formal management roles at Dolce & Gabbana has introduced a real governance shift without a creative rupture, and New York Fashion Week will no longer permit animal fur on its official schedule from September 2026.
